IPads will make a significant difference in my classroom. They will allow my students access to build on their knowledge and performance skills while increasing their motivation, communication skills and the strength of their social bonds. iPads assist in breaking down barriers for children with Autism. They are excited to work through interactive games and show genuine interest during instruction. My students see iPads as “fun” but continue to learn important skills and progress through the use of them. Ipads will guide me in transforming the way that I teach by improving individual instruction time throughout the school day. I plan to do this by creating personal learning plans based on a student’s IEP goals and areas of need. I plan to program mini recorded lessons into the device based on my students learning objectives. I will also put together a series of apps to support these skills that my students show interest in. This will allow each child to work on their own individual learning plans while other students are pulled to work with me. This will improve student’s engagement and promote meaningful instruction through interactive technology.
