Our school is continually looking for ways to support our students with developing computer science and STEM skills. Every third grader has a coding class once a week, and every fourth grader completes a robotics residency. What better way to bridge the gap between coding apps and coding objects than giving our third graders the opportunity to see their code come to life on a micro:bit?! This class-set of micro:bits will be utilized with third-grade students to show them how coding can control real objects. There are countless coding applications for the micro:bits, including getting the micro:Bit to respond to different events/input, developing pixel-art inspired designs and design sequences, and writing words on the LED screen. I know the students will pick up on the coding for micro:bits quick and inspire me with their designs!
