My class is made up of smart, energetic, very eager to learn kindergarteners. They only were able to see our classroom once at "Meet the Teacher." During what should have been our first week of school, Hurricane Harvey hit our hometown, leaving 75% of my class and myself without a home. It also flooded our school. We lost most all of our classroom furniture, and many items used for learning. We are now being housed by a large Baptist church in our community. We are very thankful to be here. There are many things we are still needing, but we are doing the best we can with what we do have. I am so excited about the opportunity to begin rebuilding my classroom for this class and many classes to come. Despite what they have been through, they come to school each day with a smile on their face and ready to learn.
