My students live in the City of Phoenix, Arizona in rough neighborhoods. My school is Title 1 and serves at-risk students. My students are inner-city kids who have been to many of the surrounding district schools and left to attend my school instead. My smaller charter school offers individual attention and help to these students who desperately need it. My art classes offer unique outlets for these students, which is very much needed in their lives. Art is a healthy, therapeutic experience for my students, allowing to get their emotions out.
