All 150 of my 9th-12th grade students attend a high poverty school district in the rural bootheel of Missouri. As teenagers, they are in the process of creating independent identities. I want them to use great literature to develop their unique voices, develop empathy, and discover the great people I know they can become. Finding the true love of books and writing in my classroom can help them weather the storm of adolescence!

About my class
