I have 24 students in my 1st grade class. These students are the children of university professors, gold miners and dog mushers. The students are learning to read, write, play and count. It is my joy not only to teach them the core curriculum, but how to survive and thrive in this rich and wild place. Last week we went snowshoeing, and in the fall we picked wild blueberries, cranberries, crow-berries and looked for edible mushrooms.

About my class
