My classroom is a colorful and diverse and hard-working room. Each day we work diligently on reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Students come from a diverse background of different religions and ethnicities. They each have unique and differing interests outside of school that vary from competitive level sports, to music, to recreational level sports, and scouts. They are kind and respectful and encouraging of one another. Teaching writing is a passion for me, but doing art with students is something I love to do as well. During the week each student works hard to plan, draft and revise multiple paragraph compositions in addition to completing work in the core subjects. Additionally, each week, we complete different art projects using different mediums including paint, water colors, oil pastels, and even fabric. It serves as a creative outlet to express themselves each week.
