My students deserve a classroom that is designed to provide a "learning ready" space every day. Not all students work best when seated in a traditional chair, at a traditional desk. I've been slowly working to purchase and provide options for working around my classroom. We've got rocking chairs and wobble stools, as well as some standing desks. My current students like to work on the floor, and this is the next area I'd like to focus on! Giving them some comfortable options will help them stay engaged and focused on learning. Allowing seating choices in my classroom empowers my students to make learning work for them! It inspires collaboration when it's needed, and allows for independent practices too. Providing flexible seating options is one way for me to meet the diverse needs of my second graders!
