All students deserve access to books that engage them and books they can read. Right now, many of my students are reluctant readers and English learners that rely on the visual supports of a picture book but feel embarrassed reading something that looks childish. Enter the graphic novel. Not only are these books highly visual, but they look grown-up and reflect characters and issues my 5th and 6th graders connect with. Some students have fallen in love with a series but we don't have the next book and they are desperate to read it! Help keep their love of reading going and get more graphic novels into my classroom library and into the hands of students!
