Have you ever wanted to be independent, but actually couldn't? I teach ESL in an elementary school in SC, and my students and their families are often illiterate in their primary language. Building literacy skills in a second language is difficult enough without a good foundation. As they continue to grow older, they want the independence of reading alone like their peers, but often can't. With your help, we can build their skills and confidence!
