Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! Flower tables in my classroom will give my students the ability to work directly with each other on group work and small group instruction. We have a lot of hands on activities and partner work and tables can ensure that we have the right setting to work together and succeed toward our goals. Working together gives our students the chance to build relationships with their peers and learn that many hands make the workload lighter. They don't have to be alone while learning and it can help them lean on each other for help and not be afraid of making mistakes. They will gain the trust of their classmates and have fun while learning in a smaller group setting. The power of a growth mindset can help them believe that if they haven't succeeded, it's not permanent. "Yet" is a powerful word that they have come to grow and love. Collaboration among my first graders is so rewarding. Yes, their education is important but social skills will also help them in many ways. The flower tables will enhance the classroom setting and build a stronger community within my classroom.
