In the small rural town of Blackstone, VA there exist a group of students who are the future doctors, lawyers, engineers, and leaders of the world. More than half of the students of Blackstone Primary School come from low income households but each student understands the meaning of hard work and using every resource given to them to make the world a better place for themselves and others. Being from a small rural district many times the world forgets about the needs of these extraordinary students. Each day parents send to my classroom the best they have, their precious children. These students work to better themselves through integrating math, science, reading, and social studies in small group and guided centers. My students need the best we can give them to enter the workforce prepared to meet the challenges of a changing world.
