I am looping with many of my students from the previous year. My classroom library was limited last year due to funding and my students read all of the books. In order for them to be successful this year, they need a larger library that offers them an array of books. Our charter school is working diligently to close the achievement gap, and with a large majority of our students being English Language Learners and receiving free or reduced lunch, we face some challenges. Any incentives our students receive will help to close the achievement gap. These kids really take advantage of every opportunity, so please provide them with one. Many of our students have gone to schools where they have fallen through the cracks and have been left behind. Now that they are at our school, they are ready to be challenged and to achieve. All we need are to tools to help them reach above and beyond in reading. Please support our classroom library efforts!
