This sixth grade group of students is on a year long Voyage to hone their personal, social, and intellectual skills. They are learning how a growth mindset helps one to focus on specific goals, embrace challenges, persist in the face of setbacks, see hard work as a path to mastery, and learn from questioning and criticism. Sixth grade is an important year because it is the bridge between the more structured elementary school years and the more self-directed, democratic learning community practiced in our middle school program.
