The second grade children in my class attend a wonderful public school in a very large district in the state of New York. Many of the children are from low socioeconomic backgrounds and some are even living in homeless shelters. Reading the English language is often times more difficult for many of my students, due to the fact that the majority of them come from Spanish speaking homes.
