I work in a community where 95% of the population live in poverty. My families have made a commitment to our program to attend adult education classes, monthly parent workshops and work in our classroom. This partnerships with parents allows us to reach the whole family and impact our students' lives in so many ways. We also visit each family monthly in their homes to extend what we learn in school to their home life. This deep commitment made by the families is impacting the way they see education and working towards breaking the cycle of poverty within our community. Education empowers!
