I would like a reading corner with these soft chairs and a wide variety of reading materials for students to choose from. For the students on my caseload, my classroom is more than a classroom. It’s their home base while at school. They know they can come to get help with school work, get a snack, or take a break from the rigors and stressors of their day. Having an area dedicated to reading will allow them to practice their reading fluency and build their reading stamina. Using flexible seating gives students a break from traditional seating. Students can be more relaxed and comfortable when using flexible seating. I would like to see students use reading as stress relief and as a way to learn something new. "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go," Dr. Seuss.
