The ball chairs will provide the gross motor and vestibular stimulation necessary to prepare my students to sit quietly and listen or complete independent work. These materials will not directly teach my students new skills, but they will help prime my students for learning in all content areas and with many daily living skills. For example, if a student is having difficulty focusing while working independently, I can have that student use the ball chair to suffice their movement needs. The constant movement that the ball chair requires will activate their vestibular system and ready that student for learning. Finally, the student will return to focus better to learn or demonstrate a specific skill.
