My students range from 7th to 9th graders. They come from a middle-class suburb and an array of cultural backgrounds. Our school is a gifted and talented school, but I specifically teach struggling readers. These students often feel that they can never measure up to their successful classmates. One of the greatest gifts you can give to a struggling reader is a feeling of completing a book and loving it.
