Our school just opened a brand new, full-size gym and tornado shelter provided through "MAPS for Kids" which has given our students a nice facility to participate in health, sports, wellness and our school's physical education program. I'm also the school's new PE teacher, starting this past October. It's been great getting back into the classroom and I'm enjoying getting to know the students, staff and parents! However, when I first started, our school didn't have the PE equipment needed for me to properly teach the vast majority of the physical education goals and objectives. Our PE equipment consisted of twelve hula hoops and some used tennis balls. Through my multiple Donors Choose projects we have begun to build our school's PE equipment. New equipment will be used by every student in our school multiple times weekly. My goal is to instill in my students a life-long love of fitness and wellness.
