My students attend a rural, public school in Michigan. We are the only elementary school in our district. We reside in a low socioeconomic community where many parents are unemployed or working low paying jobs. Our school currently gives each teacher a budget of about $250 to spend on supplies for the classroom each year. Which means that after I've spent money on paper, crayons, pencils, paint, glue and other basic classroom necessities such as cleaning wipes, tissues and hand sanitizer there is no money left to purchase anything else. This is where this wonderful site comes in.
