My students are lower income, (mostly Latino) English Language Learners who love to learn. They are sweet kids who work hard and rise up to the many challenges they face academically when being an EL learner. They are also very athletic kids. They love to play soccer and could give Messi a run for his money! :) They are awesome monkey bar swingers and could swing for hours. Many of my students face challenges at home as well. Some come from a single parent home where mom works 2 jobs and only speaks Spanish- so they have very little academic support at home. Some of my students need to get themselves (and sometimes younger siblings) up and dressed in the morning to get themselves to school. As a Title 1 school most students are on free and reduced lunch.
