Technology. It's all around us, you can look around and will always see a child on a phone or tablet of some sort. As I look around my room, I notice my students are disengaged, but they are begging to get on the computer to do Zearn or read books. Pencil and paper can only help my students so much. All of my students are on such varying levels that the computers, the little we do have help for me to differentiate my instruction so that all of my students are able to be reached. I am able to do my whole group on the white board while the computers help to provide extension lessons for my higher students and remediation lessons for my lower students. These Amazon Fire Tablets will give my students the additional resources needed to give us a 21st century classroom. The tablets I have selected will allow for my students to reach their full potential as students and have the same opportunities to learn as students in higher income areas. My students will be able to practice their math facts, read fluency passages and answer comprehension questions without the worry that the screen may go out or that the keyboard or mouse may stop working. The cases I have selected will ensure the longevity of the tablets in the years to come. These products will continue to enhance my differentiated instruction that I strive to achieve. My students deserve the same chance that other students may receive.
