These Amazon tablets and bluetooth speakers will greatly benefit the students in my Glee class. Each day, students are working together in small groups to create a musical performance where they sing and create choreography for songs fitting our unit's theme. The only technology students have available to them are their own cell phones, which often times cause a problem due to the low volume of the speakers and the inability to connect to the school internet. Students usually work in groups of 5 or 6 and when all groups are rehearsing at once, it is very difficult for any student to hear their music over the voices of the other groups that are singing.
The Amazon tablets and bluetooth speakers will allow students to look up lyrics and play their songs, use applications to help organize their performances, video record their performance to self assess for any modifications, and enable them to hear their music over the noise of the other students rehearsing. My students are extremely proud of the work they put into their performances. To be able to provide this technology for them would create a more effective way of rehearsing and planning out these student-based performances. I truly believe the use of these technologies would bring their performances over the top and would foster a much smoother rehearsal process.
