I am a special education teacher at an amazing school in Durham. I have 21 students on my caseload. Through inclusion and pull out services, I have the opportunity to teach and interact with students in grades K-5. I have a significant amount of students struggle with food insecurity and poverty. I also have students who come from financially stable homes. Regardless of my students' background, they deserve the right to the best education possible. For many students, learning is a challenge, especially when they are performing below grade level or have learning differences, but they do their best every day. We are a Responsive Classroom school and we believe in educating the whole child. We believe our students deserve a school where they feel safe and loved. We are an A+ arts integrated school that believes engaged students learn best!
