My students are those who love to learn and want to gobble up as many books as possible. My students come from financially strapped families who are doing the best for their children that they can, but they cannot afford to order or purchase books for their children. The school is completely free lunch and several of my students receive a food pack every week, which allows them to have food for the weekend. I try to use $100 of my paycheck each time to buy supplies or books for my students so that I can continue to encourage their vocabulary development and the development of their reading skills. In order for these students to succeed they have to be able to have the materials necessary for them to develop these skills and this is why this project is so important.
