Welcome to Ms. Huey's Future Leaders. My class is made up of 30 second graders from all over the world. My class is a self-contained ENL (English as a New Language) class with at least 5 different languages represented. My students speak their native language at home and learn English through content in school. Because of this great mix, my class celebrates many different cultures and ways of life. The students and their families have come to the United States to experience the opportunities that they may otherwise would not been exposed to. They always work hard to learn the language while trying to stay true to their culture. It's an amazing way to learn. This year a focus is the path to success through school and college. So, I am exposing the students to different careers and teaching them the skills and qualities that it takes to achieve these careers. Hence, Ms. Huey's Future Leaders!
