My students are college bound sophomores who live in Las Vegas, Nevada. They are influenced by the glitz and glamor, but they do not see the outside world. I want to give them the opportunity to realize that things have happened in the world around them, and realize they can do something about what happens. I want my students to read books, write letters and essays, and experience how other people in the world live. They have so much to offer, and they can be influenced to give to those less fortunate. Having this project funded will allow these students and all future students to have a window into the world and be able to see themselves in the lives of others. I want them to feel that they can change the world through their actions and have dreams to guide them to do so.
