Classroom rugs are a great space to build a stronger community within the classroom. Classroom rugs can give the class a space to share and come together for a variety of needs and activities. Students can participate in meetings, activities, and discussions without the separation created by sitting behind desks. Students are able to get together and closer with each other and open up within a shared space between their peers and their teacher. With a rug in our classroom, students will be able to listen to books read aloud by the teacher and classroom volunteers, have partner and independent reading time in a comfortable space, and create a more inviting classroom that feels more like a safe place.
