The Media Specialist /Librarian was the primary person/position in charge of the broadcasting program for the school. Over the years, this position has been cut out of the school budget and with no one to run the program the broadcasting program was closed over 10 years ago. School announcements moved from the broadcasting studio to the PA system. What was once a vibrant program that taught broadcasting skills to dozens of students and brought excitement with visual announcements to students throughout the day is now one to two students making announcement through the PA system. Streaming the announcement will add extraordinary opportunities for more students to get involved in the school community and present announcements to their peers. This is a great way for students to work on their communication skills, along with encouraging budding journalist, and writers. Additionally, students viewing the live stream will create more interest in academics, and extracurricular activities.
