Hello! I am one of a hard working team of 1st grade teachers at a rural school in Western Maine. We are a Title 1 school with a significant amount of free and reduced lunch recipients. That said, our school and district strives to stay on the cutting edge of the most up-to-date and researched teaching guidelines. Personally, I have been teaching 1st grade for 9 years and prior taught special education for 7 years. My husband and I reside with our two-year old daughter in the district where I teach. We have a corgi named Cedar, who, in her younger days was therapy-trained and visited my classroom to listen to students read and provide companionship throughout the school.
