I would like to give my students the option of flexible seating. Flexible seating allows students to take control of their learning by choosing where and how they want to sit. Imagine going to the movies and being told you have to sit on the front row with your feet on the ground. Would you enjoy that movie? I would say most of us wouldn’t. Flexible seating allows students to be comfortable, which means they are calm, focused, and productive. Research has also stated that students burn more calories, create a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improve core strength and overall posture. - Wobble chairs are designed to support students with ADHD, because they provide a physical challenge and opportunity to release energy while simultaneously working. However, modifications such as these wobble chairs often benefit all learners, especially with a shared classroom space. - Stability discs are used to strengthen core stability, improve balance and to help children settle and concentrate when needed in the classroom or at home. - White boards will be used for small group work along with independent work throughout all curriculum My students will be thrilled to walk in our room and see all the fun seating options.
