My English Learner students want to read--and so do my Spanish Learners! It's difficult to be motivated to do so when hunting down a book in Spanish is an arduous task. The school library's limited resources are the usual go-to....but there's 52 students and a lot of the time...all the Spanish books are checked out or the entirely wrong level. This project has the purpose of making Spanish titles available to read in the three Middle School classrooms. The fact that the books that would be made available are from their favorite series will allow for many future discussions between my English Learners and Spanish learners, and encourage those shyer learners of mine to pick up an old, familiar, "friend" in a different language and start their reading journey!
