The students who receive RTI services have math more than one time a day. As mentioned above, math doesn't necessarily rank high on their favorite subject list. I provide students with multiple incentives and activities in order to motivate them to give their best during RTI time. Every month, we have a STEM Challenge. Each grade will complete a STEM activity and the over all RTI winner receives the prized STEM Bells as recognition for their accomplishments. The items on our list will allow us to provide more STEM activities for our students. I also provide students with incentives for our monthly progress monitoring. There is an individual incentive as well as a grade level challenge incentive. If a student raises their progress monitoring score from the previous month, they are able to pick a prize from our RIT (random interesting treasures) Box. There are various items that we would love to add to our RIT Box for students to choose from. We also have the Raise Your RIT Grade Level Challenge. After every student in each grade completes their progress monitoring for the month, we calculate each grade's percent change from the previous month. The grade level with the highest percent increase will win a party. These parties consist of activities that students may not have the opportunity to otherwise do. This year, we have had a candy apple party, pumpkin painting party and a gingerbread house party. The items on this list will allow our students to have a snow globe making party, canvas painting party, a plant party, and more!
