The environment my students have been learning in is been bare and stripped of basic classroom decor and furniture. The rugs I chose not only provide my students with a more complete and welcoming learning environment, they will also provide them with learning opportunities. The rugs provide my students with the opportunity to play word games with the alphabet, learn more about basic geography all while providing them a place to sit comfortably for read aloud's, circle time, independent reading and playtime. Students should feel like they're walking into a fun and interactive classroom every morning. The globe will also be used to provide a more complete feeling of a classroom but also to help teach geography to my students.
