I teach Choir to grades 5-12 in Corvallis Middle and High School. The school is a class A school in a rural area. Choir classes range in size currently from 13-25. The school has a strong music program, offering Choir, Band, and Orchestra starting in fifth grade. The Choir room is bright and has a selection of Orff instruments as well as a large choral library. Students are very eager to explore with the instruments, and we incorporate ostinatos and other music activities, especially in the middle school grades. I also teach a musical theatre class one semester, and we put on a musical every other year. Those students enjoy acting and learning about all the aspects of musical theatre.
