My school is an ungraded school currently serving students ages 5 to 11, with plans to serve students through age 21. It is the first school of its kind in NY State - a public charter school devoted solely to children with autism. Our school is located in the South Bronx, providing services to a community in need of autism specific services and supports. Our educational program uses the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to provide 1:1 attention and individualized instruction to each and every one of our students. Our students are strong, silly, and hardworkingthey are truly incredible young kids. They do, however, have a lot of challenges in their day to day lives. Developing skills around social interaction, communication, and play are some of the most critical, yet difficult for our students to acquire.
