All kids are naturally excited to learn new and novel information. I want to keep our learning of English new and novel by providing a different way to practice the student's speaking and listening skills. iPads in the classroom would be an exciting addition, and would help to keep my students engaged. Students love working with technology and often prefer it to the traditional use of books alone and writing by hand. While I have no plans to stop reading and writing the way we always have, I want to introduce this other layer to play with our language. Using apps on the iPads will add a new dimension to my students' learning. Repetition and review are crucial to learning a new language. The iPads in my classroom will help to provide novel opportunities for this. Applications such as FluentU or Duolingo reinforce the material I teach my students, and provides them an opportunity to experience English in another form. iPads in the classroom will keep the material I teach fresh and exciting. Students will be so happy to come to my classroom to further their understanding of the language.
