My students will have the opportunity to create an original painting on a canvas that will be a lasting work of art as well as a reminder of the experience painting on an easel like a professional artist. We will display them in the office, halls and outside their classrooms. Ultimately, the students will be able to take their painting home for keeps. Years from today, my students will think back and recall the awesome experience of using an easel and painting on a canvas. I can almost see them smile as they say " I still have my painting." The canvases are consumable and would need to be replenished, but the easels will be used repeatedly and would be available for students' use whenever they choose.
