Math has literally saved my life. As an 8-year Naval Aviator I saw math used millions times everyday. My students think Algebra is going to be hard, but not too far away a 19-year-old flight engineer is calculating the fuel used to refuel an airplane. With one small math miscalculation disaster could happen. Math is important, maybe it is just your pay check or retirement options, but it can be life changing. I work hard to bring the meaning of Algebra into their lives, but also an appreciation of how much math matters.
