My students are the most remarkable people I have ever known, I admire and I learn so much from them. My school has a very high immigrant population and most students have come to America due to war, poverty and hardships in their own countries. They also come over speaking a language other than English and generally pick up English within two years. Some students come to America not being literate in their own languages but the students work tirelessly and dedicate themselves to learning English. My students have every reason to quit and give up but they don't, they put the work in and reap the benefits. All my students have touched me in so many ways I want to do everything I can to provide them with opportunities they didn't even know existed !
