My existing mat is made of foam sections that fit together like a puzzle. While children love sitting on the mat, the foam pieces constantly break apart distracting the students from learning. The students gather on the mat several times a day morning meetings, read aloud and number talks. This informal learning environent isan optimal way to teach young students. They children feel safe and comfortable while being with their peers. The bright semi circle rug would fit perfectly in my classroom. This carpet would replace my stained and faded mat while adding a colorful organized meeting place and a cheerful amenity.
