This upcoming school year, I will begin my first year teaching. I will have the pleasure of being the Spanish bilingual teacher to a group 25-30 5th grade students. My school is in the heart of Echo Park and primarily serves students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, almost half of them being English Learners as well. The school's strong bilingual education model has allowed us to better serve all students and close achievement gaps. Our school emphasizes that students be critical thinkers, independent problem-solvers, and agents of social justice. It is why, despite limited resources, I strive to create the most supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. I aim to provide my students with the most enjoyable, effective and equitable education as possible, so that they all have an equal opportunity to learn and succeed!
