My students are known around campus as the Texas Southern University Tigers. We are a college bound class of 5th graders who can be highly motivated when presented skills in engaging ways. About 98 percent of my students are economically disadvantaged and don't have access to many of the great resources because of lack of funds. This should not be a reason for them to not have the same experiences as students in other schools. TSU is a team who can flourish with the right motivators and experiences.
