Third grade is a difficult year, especially with state testing requirements. With that being said, many of my students come from homes in which English is not the primary language spoken, therefore they struggle with reading and language usage. To help students remain focused on the skills being taught, these books will help "lighten" the material, and make reading enjoyable for them. I am planning to use these materials to give students additional practice with comprehension skills, to help improve their reading levels, as well as extending on skills from previous school years. Each of the items requested can be differentiated to meet the individual needs of my students.
