Students do not always come into the classroom ready to learn! Some come from hardship, trauma, and poverty! Specifically, that is why I feel we as teachers need to be trauma-informed and ready to start each and every day with the tools to change our students' emotions, mindsets, and knowledge of the importance of attending school daily. Children are always curious when it comes to learning new things. Our classroom environments allow for this curiosity to flourish with practices and procedures that continue to bring our students back everyday. Their knowledge of school safety, respect, choices being given, ownership of the room, and everyday beginning with a "Hello" and a smile from their teacher will keep my students enjoying school and wanting to be lifelong learners!
