My school is a very small school, and I love it! I have roughly 460 students, and I teach K-5 grades. It is a Title I school so most students are struggling with more than just passing their classes. This year is the first year they've had a full-time art teacher. I have managed to win them over, as I'm constantly asked if I will be returning next year. It's a great feeling to know they enjoy my class so much they are concerned with me leaving. My students are silly, chatty and very eager to learn about art! I'm constantly getting asked during lunch duty what our next project will be. I have students that I have to force out when it's time for their class to go, and that's a good problem to have! I am invested in my students, and I truly want them to be strong critical thinkers. I want them to know artists, art vocabulary, just as much as I want them to develop art making techniques, and I can do that with the help of the right materials!
