Because of the variety that these seating options offer, my students will be able to self-soothe or fidget without disrupting the class. As adults, we are able to move about in our seats, therefore we do not realize that this has been taken from our students. The wobble seats will allow for the students to twist and turn, as well as lean. This movement will all be silent, controlled and within the expectations of the learning environment. The inflatable seats will do much of the same, but actually, provide a more stimulating experience for those who have not had enough rest. It will also serve as an option to be used as an intermittent chair. It can be offered to a neighbor, to "wake up". The colorful stools will serve as seating for students who want the variety of a different type of seat versus the desk chair. These seating materials will be options for students, not assigned. So, a student who needs it one day, may need a basic chair the next. It's a plan that is flexible, reliable, and suitable for all of my growing students.
