I am a 6th grade language arts teacher at a Title I school who would love to constantly expose my students to new experiences. Everyday, about 125 students walk in and out of my room. I currently teach 50 Advanced students and 75 regular students, some of whom are ELL students (English Language Learners) and ESE (Exceptional Student Education). I am always challenging students to be as creative and innovative as possible. This is a difficult task to do when they lack exposure to certain materials. Many students do not have access to the latest technology at home; I try to offer it to them in my classroom. Pencils, crayons, and paper were once the latest technology. This has changed. Now, this includes tablets, die cut machines such as the Cricut, and cameras to film journals and create digital writing projects. Using the latest technology will help students become career ready and more successful in the future.
