Do you remember the first time you read a book that made you say, "Wow, that character is just like me!"? Children develop empathy, confidence and a love of reading when they can identify with characters and make connections with the stories they read. The books I am requesting offer different opportunities for students to see themselves in these characters while also allowing them to learn lifelong lessons about kindness, empathy and the power of being true to yourself. Helping build my students' love of reading is truly a gift and I thank you for helping me make this gift to them possible!
